A sacrament in which the Holy Ghost is given to those already baptized in order to make them strong and perfect Christians and soldiers of Jesus Christ.

Confirmation

Penance is a sacrament of the New Law instituted by Christ in which forgiveness of sins committed after baptism is granted through the priest's absolution to those who with true sorrow confess their sins and promise to satisfy for the same.

Reconciliation

That Christian marriage (i.e. marriage between baptized persons) is really a sacrament of the New Law in the strict sense of the word is for all Catholics an indubitable truth.

Matrimony

Administered by a priest to a baptized person who begins to be in danger of death because of illness or old age.  Also known as Anointing of the Sick.

Extreme Unction (Faithful Departed)

Order is the appropriate disposition of things equal and unequal, by giving each its proper place (St. Aug., "De civ. Dei," XIX, xiii). Order primarily means a relation. It is used to designate that on which the relation is founded and thus generally means rank (St. Thom., "Suppl.", Q. xxxiv, a.2, ad 4um). In this sense it was applied to clergy and laity.

Holy Orders

Parish Liturgical Practices based on the General Instruction of the Roman Missal and Redemptionis Sacramentum with a special concern for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Provide teaching to all Catholics on reverence for Holy Mass, the importance of prayer in our daily lives, and the reason why weekly mass attendance is essential to our faith.

The Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Catholic life.”  “For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church.” By Communion is meant the actual reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

"Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification.”
